When a line of three–year–old blue spruce trees began to die off, so did the privacy they afforded this incredible backyard. The answer to the problem came with a clever landscape design firm, and their recommendation to “plant” a series of freestanding, timber-framed, laser-cut art panels to replace the trees (they didn’t want to wait a decade or two for their privacy to return).
It also prompted a complete redesign of the area.
The pond was shrunk to make way for a charming seating area with a beautiful wood-burning fireplace and two living-walls with drip irrigation. There’s also a lounging island on which to enjoy the beauty of the garden. This is a spectacular, well-designed outdoor living area in appropriately-named Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
