Budge Introduces Covers that Protect from Rust and Corrosion

Thursday, February 20, 2014, LANSDALE, PENNSYLVANIA

Budge Industries has introduced a revolutionary material and exciting partnership with Rust-Oleum Corp. on the first patent-pending product covers that actively protect assets from rust and corrosion.

The patent-pending material, featuring Corrode-Blok Technology, is a three-layer product, with two layers of spun-bond polypropylene surrounding a waterproof and breathable polypropylene film.

The film is impregnated with an active Volatile Corrosive Inhibitor (VCI). When the cover is installed over a vehicle, motorcycle, barbecue or any other consumer asset, the VCI evaporates out of the film, travels through the inner layer of fabric and bonds microscopically with any metal surface. This creates a microscopic layer protecting the surface of the metal from corrosion caused by oxygen and moisture in the air.

After the cover is removed, the VCI will evaporate from the surface of the product. This process continues any time the cover is installed and will provide active corrosion resistance for two years.

The partnership with Rust-Oleum developed after the material technology was finalized. That company's research and development teams, along with its extensive product evaluation, provided an excellent boost to confidence in the product's features. Budge Industries will market the cover line under the Rust-Oleum Stops Rust brand, and under a license agreement.
