Summer Classics Sign Up
for Las Vegas Market

Thursday, October 30, 2014, LAS VEGAS, NEVADA

Leading casual furniture manufacturer Summer Classics announced that the company has signed a long-term lease for a 13,500 sq. ft. permanent showroom at the Las Vegas Market starting in August 2015, in concert with the launch of two dedicated floors of casual/outdoor products.

“Las Vegas Market gives us an ideal opportunity to grow our business,” said president and chief executive officer William “Bew” White III. “Key channels for us to expand include furniture stores, especially those in the West, catalogue and Internet companies, as well as designers. We believe Las Vegas Market is the premier venue because those channels shop there consistently. The timing of the Summer Market in Vegas is also ideal for us and our customers,” he said.

Summer Las Vegas Market, which runs from August 2-6, 2015, will debut 250,000 sq. ft. of fully built-out permanent showroom and temporary exhibit space on the 12th and 13th floors in Building C devoted entirely to the casual/outdoor category.

“We’re seeing more and more outdoor manufacturers sign on for the new casual/outdoor launch this summer,” said Craig Staack, vice president of home furnishings leasing for International Market Centers. “Interest continues to grow rapidly and more announcements will be coming soon.”

According to Staack, providing buyers with additional category choices enhances the value of the Las Vegas Market. “It’s one-stop shopping – giving buyers an opportunity to fulfill their buying needs at one venue rather than adding another trip to their schedule. Traditional furniture retailers are looking to augment their product mix with casual furniture, because they are seeing the benefit this category provides to their product portfolio.”

In its new Las Vegas showroom, Summer Classics will feature its complete line of high-quality resin wicker, cast aluminum, wrought aluminum, teak and wrought iron patio furniture, in addition to outdoor cushions from their exclusive line of outdoor fabrics. The company produces a full line of accessories as well, including outdoor lamps, patio umbrellas, outdoor patio rugs, and more.

Founded in 1978 as a plastic umbrella base manufacturer, Summer Classics has evolved to become one of the nation’s leading manufacturers of outdoor furniture. Now in all 50 states and Canada, Summer Classics’ products are available through hundreds of dealers throughout the United States as well as namesake retail stores throughout the Southeast. The company is based in Montevallo, Alabama.
