Brown Jordan Strikes Exclusive
Sunbrella Partnership

Wednesday, September 9, 2015

Brown Jordan, the leading manufacturer of outdoor furnishings, debuts the 2016 textile collection designed exclusively by Sunbrella, featuring 63 Suncloth Jacquards and Stripes, 75 Solids and 25 Versatex Mesh fabrics.

Brown Jordan’s Jacquards and Stripes collection is presented in highly-styled exotic prints and stripes. Patterns include:

“Houndstooth,” an oversized version of the classically distinct jagged tooth; “Wild Print,” a fun deliverance of animal magnetism; “Bombay,” the sought-out Ikat design with a touch of global influence; “Derby,” a unique, modern stripe created from zigzags and squares; and “Kyoto” and “Bamboo Stitch.” reversible fabrics that pay homage to Asian influences.

Also new to 2016 are bold fashion colors as well as quaint organic hues: exclusive Weathered Berry offers a ripe, aged red in a stripe layout; Pesto, a pale green that’s light yet engaging; and the refreshing colors of the sea represented by Atlantic, Malibu and Iceberg, all while black and white are proving its staying power with Castaway and Frost.

The Brown Jordan Solids textile collection consists of soft chino twills and crisp, clear fabrics that cover a wide spectrum of colors, embracing endless applications and design schemes. The latest additions include two radiant hues, Blush and Iris, adding jolts of energy to indoor and outdoor spaces.

The latest Versatex mesh options include Goldleaf, a metallic brown/green; Weathered Stone, dusty white; Bittersweet, an iridescent rich brown; and Shellback, a pale buff.

“We’ve been working on this exclusive partnership for quite some time and are very excited about the launch. Glen Raven Custom Fabrics, maker of Sunbrella fabrics, is the most forward thinking company when it comes to pattern development, color and innovation; we’re looking forward to developing new products together and taking the industry to the next level,” said Steve Elton, SVP of Sales and Branding.

“We have a long history with Brown Jordan which has resulted in some of the most luxurious and cutting edge fabrics and materials on the market today,” said Alexis Maklakoff, business manager, Decorative Fabrics for Glen Raven Custom Fabrics. “This new collection further demonstrates our shared vision for design excellence and will result in exceptional new choices for outdoor living spaces.”

Brown Jordan is also introducing five new elastomeric Suncloth Straps by Sunbrella in Aruba, a coastal blue; Blush, a vibrant raspberry; Forest, a deep natural green; Iris, a rich violet; Melon, a warm citrus and a crisp White.

Brown Jordan Suncloth fabrics are made using durable Sunbrella yarns that resist soil, abrasion and UV light and are appropriate for interior and exterior use, including marine environments.

Brown Jordan’s proprietary Versatex mesh textile offers exceptional comfort and performance characteristics along with a fresh, contemporary look.
