Thursday, October 22, 2015
According to Weber's 26th annual GrillWatch Survey, it's more important for tailgaters to bring food and a grill to their parking lot party (79% and 76% respectively), than to actually have tickets to the game (44%).
The survey, commissioned by Weber-Stephen Products, the world's leading manufacturer of gas, charcoal and electric grills and accessories, reveals grill owners' list of top 10 must-have items for a successful tailgate party:
Food (79%)
Grill (76%)
Cooler (68%)
Chairs (65%)
Alcoholic beverages (60%)
Table (55%)
Tickets to the Game (44%)
Non-alcoholic beverages (38%)
Radio (37%)
Tent/Canopy (34%)
In addition, the survey shows that more than half (55%) of grill owners opt for a portable grill when tailgating, compared to 40% of respondents who choose to bring a full-size gas grill to the party. What's cooking at the tailgate has remained consistent year over year, with burgers taking the top spot (63%), followed by hot dogs (48%) and brats/sausages (33%).
Weber commissioned KeyStat Marketing to field the 26th annual Weber GrillWatch Survey. Toluna provided the sample of 1,000 grill owners throughout the United States who completed the online survey. All respondents were 21 years of age or older and currently own a charcoal, gas or electric outdoor grill or smoker. The sample was divided between 50% males and 50% females and was balanced demographically to represent households across the U.S. Visit www.weber.com.
