Parker James Now Operates Under the Summer Classics Private Label Division

Tuesday, January 19, 2016

The Parker James outdoor furniture brand will be operating under the Private Label division of Summer Classics under the continuing leadership and direction of Harold Hudson.

“The market is changing fast and we see this evolution as a good opportunity for strategic growth,” says Parker James president Harold Hudson. “We are taking on increased private label business from many new channels.”

  • Parker James was founded 12 years ago in a partnership between Summer Classics and a then SC employee. SC held a minority position until September of 2013 when it acquired the balance of the company.
  • Parker James has grown its Private Label service for specialty retailers, master retailers, cataloguers and e-commerce providers.
  • Parker James works with the SC Design Department to design highly customized, premium quality products at a market driven price point.

President Bew White says, “Parker is taking advantage of our reorganized corporate structure with improvements in its operations occurring as a result, like centralized purchasing. We will maintain Parker James in our trademarked brands portfolio for customers who wish to continue to buy the brand.”

CMO William White said, “Our Summer Classics brand has been widely known in the industry for over 40 years. From a messaging perspective, the name change centers our focus on the purpose of the business. We provide premier retailers with the capability to create their own collections of outdoor furniture, which is exclusive to them. Customers will be able to give input into the design, materials, frame colors and fabric choices. They can have product with their own branded name for surprisingly low minimums.”
