HHT Begins Closing of
Paris, Kentucky, Facility

Friday, February 19, 2016

Hearth & Home Technologies (HHT) has begun the process of closing its Paris, Kentucky, manufacturing facility that presently produces product for the Majestic and Monessen brands. Approximately 220 employees will be affected.

According to VP Berger, president of HHT, there is ample capacity available in the company’s other facilities, so it made little sense to keep the Paris plant operating.

“We’re going to help these employees find jobs,” he said, “we’re going to pay them for time served, we’re going to pay them incentives and production bonuses; it will take all of 10 to 12 months to pull out of that facility.

“The Majestic direct-vent products are going to our facility in Lake City, Minnesota, and the Monessen vent-free products are going to our factory in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.”
