John Galbreath Jr.
1957 - 2016

John Lonnie Galbreath, Jr., age 59, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on Friday morning, Nov. 25, 2016. He was born on Oct. 19, 1957, in Mountain Brook, Alabama, to John Lonnie Galbreath, Sr. and Catherine Louise Armstrong Galbreath. John graduated from the University of Montevallo and, after college, he worked for the family business, ABSCO Fireplace & Patio. During that time, he became chairman of the Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Association.

John grew up in the family business and worked at ABSCO Fireplace & Patio until he retired in 2014. He was diagnosed with cancer in May and fought a good battle.

John is survived by his wife of 37 years, Nan Lee Ellis Galbreath; daughter Joy (Jeremy) Odom; grandson Jaedon Odom; parents, John L. Galbreath, Sr. and Catherine Galbreath; sister, Cathy (Scott) Buzbee.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:30pm on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama. The funeral service will begin at 2:30pm the same day at Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham, with Dr. Bryant Strain officiating.

Burial will follow at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to aid Shriner's Children Daughters of the Nile. DONF-John Galbreath, 6705 Mesa Drive, Austin, TX 78731.
