David Harry Cady, 61, of Mankato, Minnesota, died on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at Benedictine Living Center in St. Peter, Minnesota, after a short illness. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm, Friday, November 3, 2017, at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary.

David was born to Harry and Jeanette (Menne) Cady on April 18, 1956 in Madelia, Minnesota. He graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1974. Dave was a successful entrepreneur. He started and ran several businesses and was an expert in all things related to fireplaces. He was an independent sales representative for several fireplace manufacturers over the years.

Dave was an active member of Crossview Covenant Church in North Mankato. He was passionate about his work and helping others. He enjoyed reading, hunting, and fishing.

Dave is survived by his mother, Jeanette Cady; sisters, Debra Petterson of North Mankato, and Jane (Tom) Doran of Elysian; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Cady; and infant brother, Michael.

The above is the official obituary. Dave was a long-time member of the NCHPBA. He served on the Board in the 1990s and also served as Treasurer. His Rep company was “OnFireGuy.”

The following is part of the email written by his sister, Joan Doran. “My brother's greatest joy was helping others. He took pride in watching/helping others succeed. He loved to start businesses and help them grow. He was the least selfish man that I knew. He would give anything that he had to those in need. His strong faith made him the special person that he was. I truly know that he would wish you all the best, and be very sorry that he was unable to say goodbye.”
