Skytech CEO Christopher Flick Retires

Monday, February 19, 2018

Skytech Products Group announced today that the company’s CEO, Christopher Flick, has retired as an officer and Stakeholder in the Skytech Products Group of companies.

Flick’s decision to retire will bring to a close a remarkable career in the hearth industry that began in the early 1980s. In 1996, Flick and business partner Corbit Beasey founded American Flame in Beasey’s garage. Soon after, Flick and Beasey expanded their efforts with a second company, Skytech Systems. Before long, Flick and Beasey were selling their remote control systems to dealers, distributors, retailers and OEM accounts throughout the United States and Canada. Together, the two companies established a commanding presence in the hearth industry.

Flick attributes the companies’ success to three foundational credos:

  • A live person always answers the phone
  • Customer service is king
  • Try to ship within 24 hours

Going forward, those credos will remain intact. Skytech will continue to remain true to Chris’ mantra – “Do what you say and say what you do, always be true to yourself and take care of your customers.”

A little more than 10 years ago today, Flick brought on Henry Hall as his heir apparent. Henry Hall has served as president of Skytech since 2012. Hall said, “We are going to continue building on the legacy that Chris and Corbit began so many years ago by providing quality products and outstanding customer service. Chris has taught us who we are at our core. It is not necessary to change our DNA.”

The executive leadership team consists of Henry Hall, president; Jenniffer Crawford, controller; John Buchanan, director of Sales; and Dennis Smith, National Sales manager for Firegear Outdoors.

Skytech Products Group operates the following brands: American Flame, Skytech Control Systems, Skytech OEM Solutions, Firegear Outdoors, and Valve Control Systems.

Tech: 855-498-8324; Sales: 888-699-6167
