Summer Classics Announces Partnership with Forshaw of St. Louis

Tuesday, April 3, 2018

Leading luxury outdoor furnishings brand Summer Classics, and Forshaw, a top outdoor lifestyle retailer in St. Louis that has been in business since 1871, announce a new strategic relationship. Effective immediately, Forshaw has purchased the assets of the Summer Classics Home store and will begin to operate in the location as Summer Classics by Forshaw at 15977 Manchester Road, Ellisville, Missouri, 63011, leveraging the brand recognition of two longstanding family businesses.

As part of Summer Classics and Forshaw of St Louis’ growth strategy, Summer Classics is constantly looking for new ways to increase customer reach and capture market share. “I am really excited to partner with Forshaw in St. Louis,” said Bew White, CEO of Gabriella White. “Our experience in selling large special orders and indoor furnishings, and Forshaw’s experience in execution and quick deluxe deliveries is a home run!”

With Summer Classics Home being a retail design destination featuring Summer Classics’ luxury outdoor collections and Gabby high-style indoor furniture and lighting, and Forshaw specializing in fireplaces, gas logs, grills, and outdoor kitchens, it allows both companies to expand across many complementary product categories. That’s in addition to creating further growth opportunities for the Summer Classics Home associates based in St Louis.

“Picking up a top product line like Summer Classics is a major part of our business going forward,” said Rick Forshaw, president and CEO at Forshaw of St. Louis. “The deep branding and roots that we have in the St. Louis market will make for a phenomenal relationship with Summer Classics along with the fact the people are knowledgeable, the products are great, and the store is in a prime geographic location for our market.”

This new relationship between Summer Classics and Forshaw will enhance Forshaw’s position in the luxury outdoor furniture industry, while significantly expanding Summer Classics’ reach in the St. Louis market by expanding into Forshaw’s other retail location. By sharing skills, knowledge, and history in the St. Louis market, Summer Classics and Forshaw, will increase trajectories for both businesses. Forshaw has a proven operating model. As part of this transition, they will begin operations of the Summer Classics by Forshaw store in Ellisville and bring Summer Classics and Gabby to the Forshaw location in Frontenac. It’s a big win for both companies.
