Operation BBQ Relief:
The Always Serving Project
Friday, March 29, 2019
Operation BBQ Relief is pleased to announce the Always Serving Project. The Always Serving Project is an extension of the Operation BBQ Relief program. We will be serving Military, First Responders, and supporting the Fight on Hunger. Together we will connect, inspire, and serve communities throughout the year with the healing power of BBQ. You can learn more about the Always Serving Project at:
We are opening our Always Serving efforts with a series of events we are calling the Breaking Bread Tour. Operation BBQ Relief will cycle, hand cycle, and run from Los Angeles to Tampa across America while carrying the Department of Defense (DoD) Warrior Game torch, ending at the opening of the 2019 DoD Warrior Games. We will be serving BBQ at one-day events in each of these cities:
Los Angeles, California – April 28, 2019
Phoenix Arizona – May 5, 2019
Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas – May 13, 2019
Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas – May 20, 2019
Houston, Texas – May 25, 2019
Hammond, Louisiana – June 2, 2019
Panama City Beach, Florida- June 9, 2019
The tour culminates at the Department of Defense Warrior Games in Tampa, Florida where we will be serving the Warrior Competitors for a full week of June 21 through the 30th.
Please consider supporting OBR and volunteering to help with these events. You will have the opportunity to cook with some of the best pitmasters in the nation and serve that One BBQ Meal that Matters to our friends, Military Service Personnel, First Responders, and some suffering communities.
The events will be posted through the OBR Volunteer App. If you haven’t registered as a volunteer yet, and you think you would like to help us, please get the app, sign up as a volunteer, and register to serve at an event of your choosing. Instructions for signing up are at the end of this message.
We hope to see you at one of these events, and we thank you for your continuing support.
