Century Furniture and Richard Frinier Receive 2019 ADEX Platinum Award

Monday, June 10, 2019

Century Furniture and long-time collaborating designer Richard Frinier were recently announced as the recipients of a 2019 ADEX Platinum Award for their newest collection together, Tangier. ADEX stands for Awards for Design Excellence and it is regarded as one of the largest and most resourced award programs for its many product and project designs within the design community sponsored and awarded by the Design Journal Magazine, an international trade resource for architects, interior designers, and facility managers since 1988.

Director of Upholstery and Outdoor for Century Furniture, Ellen DeLong, says, “We are thrilled to have Tangier receive this recognition. Richard’s collections for Century are high in design with unique details. Careful thought is always given to the collections’ comfort and livability, allowing our team to sell with the confidence that their client will be pleased with their selection.”

Tangier, from the Richard Frinier Collection for Century, was inspired by the designer’s travels to Morocco. Frinier says, “This collection embodies a very strong sense of place, capturing the exotic and romantic essence of authentic Moorish architecture. Its distinctive forms with arched Moroccan design details are accentuated with an artfully hand-woven and open-weave pattern with a very specific fretwork motif.” He adds, “This design takes you places without ever leaving home. It invites you to slow down and relax, and encourages the type of gatherings that will be long enjoyed and remembered.”
