British-based Charnwood Has Received a Gift of Facemasks from Japan

Friday, March 27, 2020

The team from Charnwood just managed to return on the last flight back from New Orleans to London after a successful product launch of the Skye E700 at the HPBExpo. Getting back just in time before the UK ramped up its measures against Covid-19, the company was touched to receive a message from their Japanese distributor informing them that a shipment of 300 facemasks were being sent from Tokyo for the health of the employees of the company.

Hugh Wells, Managing director, commented: “Our Japanese partners were concerned about the Covid-19 situation in Europe and made this really thoughtful gesture. As a company, we are continuing to operate, although with reduced staffing levels, as we have a number of key projects we are trying to deliver, including one for signage for a hospital in London that they are trying to get quickly finished.

“It’s great to see these acts of kindness from across the world. We are positive for the future and, after this pandemic has passed, it is important that we continue to support each other, work together, and show the kindness that times of crisis reveal.”

This is Charnwood’s first foray into the U.S. At the recent HPBExpo, the company was a finalist in the Wood Products category at the Vesta Awards Program.
