Message from CEO
Operation BBQ Relief has been very busy responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Operation Restaurant Relief (ORR) program has launched in new states and has proven to be an effective vehicle to provide meals to communities in need and support the restaurant industry. The program is giving restaurants a lifeline, hiring back or maintaining staff on payroll, and serving approximately 2,500 meals a day at each restaurant. We have provided over 240,000 meals in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The pandemic has created a new level of uncertainty that our country and economy have never experienced before. We are in conversations with supporters, sponsors, and government entities to provide additional meals and add restaurant relief partners throughout the country.
I had the chance to pass out meals to families in the Kansas City area and have conversations with restaurant owners who had to close their doors indefinitely. These are difficult conversations and your support has allowed Operation BBQ Relief to provide hope and compassion to families, restaurants, healthcare workers, veterans, the homeless and numerous organizations during this challenging pandemic.
We are in need of additional funding as Operation BBQ Relief responds to the pandemic. Please reach out to Operation BBQ Relief if you have any suggestions for financial support and partners as we continue to provide the one hot meal that matters.
Thank you,
Stan Hays

Message from Chief of Programs
I hope this newsletter finds each of you safe and sound. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everybody affected by the current situation across this wonderful nation.
Given the complexities involved, Operation BBQ Relief has extended the dates for postponement of all Non-Disaster events. ALL NON-DISASTER EVENTS ARE POSTPONED THROUGH JUNE 30, 2020. We are working diligently to reschedule each of these events for the latter part of the calendar year. We will continue to update as this situation progresses.
Operation BBQ Relief will continue to conduct Disaster Operations and Covid-19 response operations as needs arise.
Thank you for all that you have done and continue to do as part of Operation BBQ Relief. Our OBR family is a strong and compassionate community of difference makers. We must continue to connect, inspire, serve, and educate within our local communities – we are all in this together.
Faithfully,
Jarrid “Jay” Collins
