Issues Facing the Barbecue Industry: “There are no real issues in the industry, just opportunities. With most of our products going into built-in applications, we see a growing need for the resources that help consumers complete their outdoor kitchen projects. By resources, we are referring to design, build and equipment experts who offer consumers a complete solution.

“Many of our dealers offer these resources and execute on projects very successfully, but there is room for more. The outdoor kitchen category is growing exponentially on a national level and consumers need assistance in getting from, ‘I want an outdoor kitchen’ to the completed project in their backyard.”

Trends You See in the Barbecue Industry: “Consumers are trending toward more fully-featured grills and more accessories in the outdoor kitchen. As a manufacturer, we strive to think through a consumer’s cooking, storage and entertaining needs. This gives them the opportunity to create a space that suits their family’s personal cooking and entertaining style.”

Key Things Retailers Should Do to Improve Their Barbecue Business: “Not to over-simplify this response, but the answer is very simple: Display the right products and train the people who sell them. Consumers need to see and feel the product. A good grill and outdoor kitchen display, reinforced with a knowledgeable and enthusiastic salesperson, is a recipe for success that has proven itself time and time again.”
